Catan

Catan (formerly known as Settlers of Catan) is a strategy game, ideal for new players, in which players take on a role of leader of settlers on an island named Catan. They build settlements, cities and roads by spending resources the island produces - it is represented by hexagonial tiles of different land types, where most land types produce a certain resource (forest produces wood, mountains produce ore etc.). The player that first reaches ten points (they can be gained by building settlements/cities, having longest road and biggest army, are also printed on cards player can acquire - which are hidden) announces that they won the game.
