Every decision counts as you barter, bluff, and build your way to victory.

This engaging strategy game invites players to divide and conquer using a clever “cut-and-choose” mechanic. Each round, you’ll face the tantalizing challenge of splitting your lands into two groups—one larger, one smaller—while tempting your rivals with gems to sweeten the deal. Will you risk offering up your prized theater for a handful of diamonds, or hold out for that perfect combination of fields and buildings? The art of negotiation is just as important as tactical planning.

At the start of the game, every player receives their own set of building cards, a stack of land tiles representing five distinct terrain types (fields, cities, olive gardens, and more), sparkling crystals, choice cards for selecting land parcels, reminder cards to keep play smooth, and privacy screens for secret scheming. Over four brisk turns, you’ll draw new land tiles and buildings, then secretly divide your holdings into enticing bundles. Add a crystal to the smaller lot to make it irresistible—after all, every gem is worth valuable points!

Once everyone has made their split behind their screens, the real intrigue begins. Players reveal their offerings and take turns choosing from their neighbor’s divided lands—alternating left and right each round to maximize interaction and keep everyone on their toes. The chosen parcels are added to your growing domain, while unclaimed lands remain yours to develop further.

Scoring is where your strategic foresight pays off. For each type of terrain where you’ve placed matching buildings, you’ll multiply the number of lands by the number of corresponding buildings—so careful placement is key. And don’t underestimate those crystals: each one nets you extra points for clever trades. After four rounds of cunning deals and calculated expansion, the player with the highest score claims victory as Rome’s newest ruler.
